As multiple sources have reported, it was recently announced that there is a vulnerability in the design of SSL version SSLv3. SSLv3 stands for Secure Socket Layer version 3. This vulnerability has been giving the name of the “POODLE vulnerability.” The POODLE vulnerability has the capability to communicate with your computer or other devices, which can lead to the SSLv3 protocol to be intercepted and deciphered, if not properly addressed. In laymen’s terms, if your web browser is using SSLv3 for encryption, the content you are sending is not secure. These browsers include but are not limited to Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox and Safari. It doesn’t matter if you use your computer for personal or work purposes; you are still susceptible to being hacked.
